Omaha Creative Institute
Omaha Creative Institute (OCI) is a 501c3 non-profit arts organization whose mission is to build an audience for the arts in the Omaha metro and to support local artists with tools to allow them to make a living through their artistic practice. We partnered with OCI in 2016 for a rebrand that represents all of the great things they're doing for the Omaha creative scene. We focused on clarifying and simplifying.
Our main concept was to represent the Greater Omaha community, the individual at the center, and how both of those elements are connected and supported by creativity. We loved the basic approach of three circles. They represent the different levels and also show the OCI acronym. Our personal favorite is the personification of the 'i' in the middle. It's dancing (one of the many artist forms that OCI represents)!
For social media, we provided a basic set of assets and encouraged artists to clip a photo of their work into the OCI icon.
Along with the main identity, we used direct quotes from artists involved with OCI about their process, their love of art and creativity, and what the Omaha creative scene means to them. These we're placed on the website, print collateral, and presentation slides.
Finally, utilizing a Squarespace theme we designed and launched a website that helped bring the new OCI brand to life. The site houses all of their upcoming event information, tons or resources for local artists, and an easy-to-use donation platform for the community to help keep the organization humming along.
